Funded PhD Opportunity at LSBU - deadline 3rd Feb
The Weeks Centre for Social and Policy Research at London South Bank University is offering two full time PhD Studentships commencing end of February 2012. Awards are offered for three years and cover tuition fees at the UK/EU rate plus a maintenance grant of £15,000 and a research support grant of £500. The studentships are linked to the Weeks Centre for Social and Policy Research.

Applicants aiming to research Sexuality and Gender are particularly encouraged and will need at least a good 2.1 in Sociology or related disciplines and candidates with a Masters degree relevant to their proposed field of study are encouraged. Chasing Rainbows:Exploring Gender Fluid Parenting Practices attempts to cast a lens on the messy and convoluted ways that feminist parents approach parenting their children in gender aware and gender fluid ways. The collection aims to draw together scholars, activists and community members to open a conversation about the challenges of exploring and maintaining an awareness of gender while parenting in a highly gender normative world.

Transgressive Culture is a new electronic and print peer-reviewed journal and book series.
We invite submissions of critical and creative work within the broad area of ‘Madness’ and Culture.
Work that transgresses established divides in form and content will be prioritised.
